Who's Andrea Tisovec?

Andrea Tisovec is a Brazilian visual artist recognized for her originality, technical precision, and innovative contributions to contemporary paper art. Since 2016, she has dedicated her career to the art of quilling, developing her practice independently as a self-taught artist and creating works distinguished by the harmony between structure, color, and movement.

Driven by a lifelong passion for artistic creation, Andrea began exploring paper art intuitively, transforming traditional quilling techniques into increasingly complex compositions. Over time, her artistic research led to the development of a distinctive visual language based on spatial construction, depth, and visual rhythm.

Andrea Tisovec is the creator of the Perspective in Quilling technique, an original method that introduced depth, tridimensionality, and spatial construction into paper filigree. This technique allows flat surfaces to be transformed into immersive visual structures, creating layers, distances, and movement within the composition. By combining observation, proportion, and controlled variation in paper dimensions, her method transforms the surface of the artwork into a structured visual environment, expanding the expressive possibilities of quilling.

This innovation represents a significant contribution to contemporary paper art, establishing new technical and visual possibilities within the field. The Perspective in Quilling technique has become a central element of Andrea's artistic identity and a defining feature of her body of work.

Andrea also held a leadership and technical role within Zôdio Brasil, part of the international ADEO Group, a multinational retail organization headquartered in France. She was selected to participate in an exclusive community of specialists recognized for exceptional technical expertise, representing the field of artistic quilling.

At Zôdio, Andrea served as Visual Artist and Curator of Contemporary Paper Art, where she was responsible for the technical evaluation, selection, and validation of materials and tools used in the paper arts sector. Her work involved establishing technical standards for quality, durability, and compatibility of materials, directly influencing the reliability and performance of products offered to customers.

She also contributed to the structuring and implementation of the paper arts sector within the company, participating in portfolio definition, material selection, and technical validation processes. Her contributions included the curation of more than 30 specialized materials and tools and supported measurable improvements in product quality, customer experience, and sales performance.

Additionally, Andrea performed functions as a technical evaluator (judge), assessing the suitability of materials proposed by manufacturers and suppliers. Her decisions directly influenced quality standards, purchasing criteria, and the technical reliability of materials used in artistic production.

Since 2016, Andrea has created more than 1,500 original artworks, building an international artistic trajectory with participation in exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, including Switzerland, Colombia, Panama, Argentina, and Turin (Italy). Her work has been featured in art publications, specialized platforms, and exhibitions that highlight contemporary developments in paper art.

Throughout her artistic trajectory, Andrea has shared her knowledge through educational initiatives and workshops conducted prior to her relocation to the United States, contributing to the development of emerging artists and expanding the visibility of quilling as a contemporary artistic language.

Andrea Tisovec is the author of the book A Arte do Quilling pelos Olhos de Andrea Tisovec — História, técnica e projetos (Arte Impressa Editora, Jaboticatubas, MG — Brazil, 2026, ISBN 978-65-6145-087-4), in which she documents the history, foundations, and technical development of quilling, while formally presenting her original Perspective in Quilling technique as a structured artistic methodology.

Currently based in Orlando, Florida, where she has lived since July 2018, Andrea continues to develop new artistic research, produce original works, and expand the visual possibilities of dimensional paper art.

Her work invites viewers into a contemplative experience, transforming paper into a visual language where technique and emotion converge, and where precision, structure, and sensitivity coexist in balance.
